FAQ
1. What will I get out of the sessions?
Each session consists of theory and practical components. During which, participants will learn how to make their own wine under the guidance of our trainers.
At the end of the session, they will each leave with 4.5 litres/6 bottles of wine that they have made.
2. Can I buy the ingredients like grapes to make on my own?
Yes, you are encouraged to continue your learning and practice of winemaking even after the sessions. We deliberately create recipes that use ingredients easily available in local shops or supermarkets. Wine yeast will be the most difficult item to find, but we will tell you where to get them.
3. When will the wine I make expire?
Most wines we make are quick drinking wines that will be ready to drink in a month. However, the wine will stay good to drink for many years as long as they are bottled the right way.
4. Will the Singapore weather affect my wine?
It’s essential to protect the wine from direct sunlight. Storing wine in a dark, dry cupboard, such as HDB bomb shelters turned wine cellars, is ideal. Properly stored wine doesn’t require refrigeration, although chilling certain wines may enhance their taste.
5. How do I know if the wine is good or spoiled?
Poor winemaking hygiene or oxygen can infect your wine. Infected wine will most like smell and taste like vinegar. During the sessions, we stress the importance of good hygiene and give several inexpensive options to help you keep your wines good to drink.
